The American Enterprise Institute: Dedicated to preserving and strengthening the foundations of freedom–limited government, private enterprise, vital cultural and political institutions, and a strong foreign policy and national defence–through scholarly research, open debate, and publications.

Ayn Rand Institute: The authoritative online source for information on the life and works of novelist-philosopher Ayn Rand, author of the famous novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

Brookings Institution: One of Washington’s oldest think tanks, is an independent, non-partisan organisation devoted to research, analysis, and public education with an emphasis on economics, foreign policy, governance, and metropolitan policy.

Atlas Economic Research Foundation: Atlas brings freedom to the world by helping develop and strengthen a network of market-oriented think tanks that spans the globe.

Cato:The leading US libertarian think-tank that seeks to broaden the parameters of public policy debate to allow consideration of the traditional American principles of limited government, individual liberty, free markets and peace.

Centre for Independent Studies: The leading independent public policy ‘think tank’ within Australasia. The CIS is actively engaged in support of a free enterprise economy and a free society under limited government where individuals can prosper and fully develop their talents.

Cascade Policy Institute: Oregon’s Free Market Think Tank. Public policy issues from a limited government, free market perspective.

Freedom House: A non-profit, nonpartisan organization that is a clear voice for democracy and freedom around the world.

Freedom Institute: A relatively new think tank seeking to make waves Ireland.  It promotes free-market, pro-enterprise policies through limited Government.

Frontier Centre for Public Policy: An independent public policy think tank whose mission is “to broaden the debate on our future through public policy research and education and to explore positive changes within our public institutions that support economic growth and opportunity.”

Globalisation Institute: A free-market international development think tank, researching practical, enterprise-based solutions to poverty.

Heritage Foundation: A leading US research and educational institute whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defence.

Hoover Institution: A public policy research centre devoted to advanced study of politics, economics, and political economy—both domestic and foreign—as well as international affairs.

Manhattan Institute: For 25 years, the Manhattan Institute has been an important force in shaping American political culture. They have supported and publicised research on our era’s most challenging public policy issues: taxes, welfare, crime, the legal system, urban life, race, education, and many other topics. The institute has won new respect for market-oriented policies and helped make reform a reality.

The National Centre for Policy Analysis: A nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research organization, established in 1983 based in Dallas and Washington DC. The NCPA’s goal is to develop and promote private alternatives to government regulation and control, solving problems by relying on the strength of the competitive, entrepreneurial private sector. Topics include reforms in health care, taxes, Social Security, welfare, criminal justice, education and environmental regulation.

New Zealand Business Round Table: An organisation comprising primarily chief executives of major business firms committed to contributing to the development of sound policies that reflect overall national interests.  It is founded on the belief that a healthy, dynamic business sector and open and competitive markets are fundamental to the achievement of a prosperous economy and fair society.

Stockholm Network: A network of 120 market-oriented think tanks in Europe and further afield.
